  1. Why should I take a water sample?

Clean, bacteria free water is essential for human health. B. Blackburn Ltd performs free water tests to determine iron content, PH levels, magnesium levels, sulphur levels and hardness of your water. Have your water checked today by one of our licensed technicians.

  2. I'm worried about e-coli & parasites entering my well water. I have a tap filter, is this enough to keep it clean, or should we go to a more elaborate system?

No, we feel this is "not enough" to keep your water clean. First, we must determine whether you have surface contamination or if insects are entering your well. If this is the case it can be cured by extending the well casing or replacing the well cap in accordance to the water wells regulation procedures. Our second suggestion would be a UV light or reverse osmosis system might be beneficial to you. Our company provides all these services and parts.

  3. Why does my water smell bad?

Your water has high sulphur levels and an iron guard or sulphur unit would correct your problem.

  4. I have hard water, do you install water softeners?

Yes we install water softeners, please see our water treatment page to find more information.

  5. Can I purchase a water softener system without salt?

Yes you can as long as your PH levels are normal and no iron is present in your water.

  6. Where does a water softener drain into?

A drainage pit or sump pump discharge line.
